We are now seeking a Kitchen Hand to join our team to assist in providing high quality, nutritious meals to our residents. This role will work across both of our Bangalow and Byron Bay villages.From 1 May 2020, it is a mandatory requirement from the Department of Health that an up to date flu vaccination is required for ALL persons to be able to enter Residential Aged Care Facilities. As part of our Feros Care recruitment process, we ask that all applicants are aware of this new requirement and should you have any reason not to obtain a vaccination, that you speak with your dedicated Recruitment Advisor.What will I be doing?Assisting chefs with the daily running of the commercial kitchenPreparing a variety of fruits, meats, vegetables for resident meals (wash, slice, dice, peel etc.)Creating meals that differ in texture and consistency to meet the needs of residentsSetting up the dining room, serving and presenting meals to our residentsChecking and recording temperatures for freezers, fridges and cold storesCleaning the kitchen as you goReceiving, checking and storing stockEnsuring food safety complianceBoxes you have to tick:Comfortable working with our elderly residents in a high care settingAvailability to work across a 7 day roster, including weekendsPrevious experience working or assisting in a commercial kitchen (café, restaurant, catering) environmentYou hold a Certificate in Food Safety 1 and/or 2 (or willingness to attend Feros Care training for this before commencing any food handling)Current unrestricted drivers licenceCurrent flu vaccination or willingness to obtainBrownie Points:Experience working within aged careAbout Feros Care:Feros Care is a multi-award winning not-for-profit organisation offering a range of aged, disability and community care services.
