Volunteer Coordinator – Community Visitor Scheme



As the Volunteer Coordinator of the Community Visitor Scheme, you will source, select, orientate and supervise all of our newbie volunteers providing them with the tools to maximise the social engagement of seniors in the community.   Promotion of our newly expanded volunteer program will also be front of mind for you, yelling from the rooftops and chewing that fat with anyone who will listen. Thinking outside the square will be a must when it comes to identifying innovative new ways to expand, develop and support the volunteer program to attract and retain passionate and committed volunteers.   Our new Volunteer Coordinator will be an ‘experience enhancer’ who has a resolute focus on absorbing every little morsel of knowledge possible.  As you grow, so will your contribution to the team, gradually taking on more responsibility, expanding your skills, fostering a successful career in volunteer management.    If we could create our perfect volunteer coordinator, they would: Be committed and passionate about enabling people to live their best lives  Be confident in communication and engagement Have an ability to practice innovation and manage risk Be open to generating and introducing a better way to do things Actively embrace new technologies, processes and ideas  Have a sense of adventure Ready to smash stereotypes around ageing The boxes you will tick:  A minimum of 3 years’ experience in people leadership A minimum of 3 years’ experience in coordinating a volunteer or community program  Bachelor Degree of higher in Business, Health, Social Services or similar Demonstrated experience in implementing volunteering and/or community service programs Demonstrated a strong level of communication  For brownie points: An established volunteer network Well-developed skills in planning and implementing comprehensive volunteer programs and functions Project management experience and program design Previous experience working within the aged and/or community care industry Think age is just a number?
