A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Financial Services branch for an experienced Coordinator Accounting Services. The successful candidate will be a motivated and team orientated individual with a flexible ‘can do’ approach.Your responsibilities will include:Ensuring the provision of timely and accurate accounting information to council, staff and the public.Providing leadership, direction, guidance and support to the section.Maintaining the city’s cash and reserve fund investments in accordance with council policy, ensuring that the city has sufficient cash on hand to meet ongoing obligations.Preparation of statutory returns (BAS, FBT, statistical returns)Coordinating the external audit and preparation of annual financial reportsCoordinating review of the city’s Strategic Financial Plan in accordance with the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework.Coordinating preparation of the city’s Annual Budget in accordance with statutory and management requirements.To be successful in this role, you will have (Selection criteria):Relevant tertiary level qualification and/or relevant work experienceStrong leadership skillsProject management experienceAbility to work to deadlinesTechnical experience in financial reporting, strategic planning, budgeting and general accounting principles and statutory requirements.Local government experience (Desirable)CPA/CA Qualifications (Desirable)How to apply:Please select the ‘Apply’ button below and include the following documents in your application;Your current resume A cover letter which includes;1 – 2 page written response addressing the selection criteria (listed above)This role is a full time, permanent positionSalary: $95,000 - $105,000Enquiries: Bianca Jones, Manager Financial Services on (08) 9237 9252.Applications close 3pm Friday 2 MarchPosition DescriptionSelection Criteria
