You will be:responsible for implementing the City’s Activity Centre Plans;instrumental in implementing a new Town Planning Scheme;developing residential, commercial, transport and economic strategies to support future planning for Subiaco;working towards balanced outcomes that supports the City’s dual planning strategies of achieving appropriate high-quality development whilst maintaining the character and village atmosphere of Subiaco;working to develop and implement local development plans and other strategic planning instruments to guide planning and development; andassisting the Heritage Co-ordinator in implementing the City’s Heritage Strategic Plan.You will also be responsible for providing the City with thorough and robust planning advice and providing a mentorship role to the planning services team, as well as providing guidance on technical planning matters.The requirements for this position include:Tertiary qualification in urban and regional planningMinimum 3 years post graduate experience in Local Government planning or equivalent in the private sectorHighly developed verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to work independently along with supervisory and mentorship skillsHighly developed organisational skillsApplicants must address the requirements on the position description as part of their application.
