Catering Assistant – Kitchen Hand – Byron Bay, NSW



We offer our residents freshly prepared meals and snacks, all cooked on site in our commercial kitchens. We are now seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team to assist in providing high quality, nutritious meals to our residents. Please note this a casual position working the afternoon shift and will include weekend work. This role is based at our Byron Bay residential village. About the role:Assisting chefs with the daily running of the commercial kitchenAssisting with the preparation of meals for residents ensuring consistency in quality, taste and presentationLoading and unloading of dishwasher and hand washing utensils as requiredMonitoring and reporting on sufficient food suppliesEnsuring compliance with HACCP legislation and Feros Food safety PlanEnsuring a safe working environment in the residential facility by working within workplace health and safety requirements About you:You hold a Certificate in Commercial Cookery or similarPrior Aged Care experience (desirable but not essential)Recent experience working in a commercial kitchen and cooking in bulkPrior experience creating meals for those with allergies, intolerances, requiring supplements or modified texturesPrevious experience developing and delivering menus to meet a range of special dietary requirementsProven skills in preparing and costing new menusFlexible availability with the ability to work weekendsYou respect the privacy, confidentiality and dignity of senior clients, and maintain a professional working relationships with clients at all times (but still be up for forging some great relationships with our residents and having FUN)Please visit the careers page on our website to see a full position description.About Feros CareFeros Care is a multi-award winning not-for-profit organisation offering a range of aged, disability and community care services.
