Our facility is a high care facility, so please keep in mind the environment may be confronting and will require our homemakers to engage regularly with our residents, including assisting with feeding meals (after marked off as competent). From 1 May 2020, it is a mandatory requirement from the Department of Health that an up to date flu vaccination is required for ALL persons to be able to enter Residential Aged Care Facilities. As part of our Feros Care recruitment process, we ask that all applicants are aware of this new requirement and should you have any reason not to obtain a vaccination, that you speak with your dedicated Recruitment Advisor. What might a day look like for me? General cleaning, bed making and linen changes Working in the main public areas, office space, laundry and personal rooms Preparing for and assisting residents at meal times. This includes assisting to feed meals to residents in high care Engaging with residents, their families and visitors Participating in ad-hoc events and activities within the facility Providing support, companionship, encouragement and banter! Potential for personal care (if qualified) and kitchen shifts Working various shifts including leave coverage Boxes you need to tick: You have prior cleaning experience within a large scale setting You are able to work across a 7 day roster You have previous experience operating cleaning equipment and using chemicals You are willing to undergo a police check and prove that you have the right to work in Australia Ideally you might have worked in an aged care setting before, or in a role that involved going into a clients home/room to clean their personal spaceYou are comfortable working around our residents in a high care facilityYou may be undertaking a certificate III in individual support or similar, or would be interested in this in the near future.
